1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Veriquella Pure House Limited ("Veriquella Pure House", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects personal information when you visit this website, request a quote, submit a cleaning-service enquiry, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our business. We are based at 10 Papanui Road, Merivale, Christchurch 8014, New Zealand . This policy is intended to provide transparent information consistent with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where the European Union or European Economic Area General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to a particular individual or processing activity, the transparency and data-subject rights requirements of the GDPR.

2. Who is responsible for your information

For website and service-enquiry information, Veriquella Pure House Limited is the organisation responsible for deciding why and how personal information is processed. Under GDPR terminology, we act as the controller where the GDPR applies. Our registered contact address is 10 Papanui Road, Merivale, Christchurch 8014, New Zealand . General privacy enquiries may be sent to info@veriquellapurehouse.com. Email addresses and phone numbers shown on this site are displayed as text and are not automatically activated as contact links.

3. Information we may collect

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, phone number, service address or suburb, preferred service type, property or premises details, requested dates, access instructions, cleaning priorities, messages, feedback and other information you include in an enquiry. If you become a customer, we may also process booking records, service notes, correspondence, invoice information, transaction references, complaint records and information reasonably necessary to provide and administer cleaning services. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for the service and we have asked for it.

4. Information collected from website use

When you use this website, ordinary technical information may be generated by your browser or hosting environment, such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, approximate time zone, requested pages, referring page, response status, timestamps and security logs. We limit such information to what is reasonably necessary for operating, securing, diagnosing and improving the site. We do not intentionally use hidden advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels in this local version of the website.

5. Purposes for processing

We process personal information to respond to enquiries; prepare and discuss cleaning-service quotes; schedule, provide and administer requested services; communicate about changes, access requirements and service completion; maintain business and accounting records; manage quality assurance, feedback, complaints and disputes; protect customers, staff, premises and our systems; prevent misuse or fraud; comply with tax, legal and regulatory obligations; establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and maintain the security and performance of the website. We do not sell personal information.

6. Lawful bases under the GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis depends on the context. We may process information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to perform a contract for cleaning services; because processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; because we have legitimate interests in operating a professional cleaning business, answering enquiries, maintaining records, securing our systems and resolving disputes, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights; or, where required, because you have given consent. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.

7. New Zealand privacy principles

For individuals in New Zealand, we handle personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 2020. We aim to collect information only for lawful purposes connected with our functions, collect it fairly and directly where appropriate, take reasonable steps to ensure you understand why it is being collected, keep it securely, provide access and correction rights, check accuracy before use, retain it no longer than reasonably required, and use or disclose it only for permitted purposes or where an applicable exception applies.

8. Service providers and disclosures

We may disclose limited personal information to service providers that support our business, such as hosting, IT support, secure communications, accounting, payment or professional advisory providers, but only to the extent reasonably necessary for the relevant service and subject to appropriate confidentiality, privacy or contractual safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or lawful authority; to protect a person from serious harm where legally permitted; in connection with a business restructuring; or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not authorise service providers to use customer information for their unrelated independent marketing.

9. International transfers

Our business is established in New Zealand. If personal information relating to a person protected by the GDPR is transferred from the European Economic Area to New Zealand or another country, we will use an available lawful transfer mechanism as required, such as an adequacy decision where applicable, approved contractual safeguards, or another permitted GDPR transfer mechanism. Where New Zealand law applies to overseas disclosures, we will also take reasonable steps required by the Privacy Act 2020 to ensure comparable safeguards or rely on a lawful exception.

10. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including service administration, legal, tax, accounting, insurance, safety and dispute-resolution requirements. Enquiries that do not lead to a service may be retained for a limited period so we can respond to follow-up questions and maintain basic business records. Customer and transaction records may be retained for longer where legislation or legitimate business recordkeeping requires it. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.

11. Security

We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. Measures may include access controls, least-privilege practices, secure device configuration, software updates, backups, controlled sharing, staff confidentiality expectations and review of service-provider access. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. We nevertheless take privacy and security incidents seriously and investigate suspected loss, unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure.

12. Privacy breaches

If a privacy breach occurs, we will assess the nature of the information, likely consequences, people affected and steps that can reduce harm. Where New Zealand's notifiable privacy breach requirements apply, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals when the breach has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, subject to lawful exceptions. Where the GDPR applies, we will meet applicable personal-data-breach notification and documentation requirements, including notification to the competent supervisory authority and, where legally required, affected individuals.

13. Your access and correction rights

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it, subject to lawful grounds for refusal or limitation. You may also ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information. If we do not make a requested correction, New Zealand law may allow you to ask us to attach a statement of correction to the information. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

14. Additional GDPR rights

Where the GDPR applies to you, and subject to its conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis, and you have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects where Article 22 applies. We do not currently use solely automated decision-making of that kind for cleaning-service enquiries.

15. Children

Our services are intended for adults arranging household or commercial cleaning. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children for marketing or service contracting. If a parent or guardian believes a child has supplied personal information to us inappropriately, please contact us so that we can assess and, where appropriate, remove the information.

16. Cookies and local storage

This website may use strictly necessary or preference-related browser storage required for basic functionality. Detailed information about the categories of cookies or similar technologies we may use, their purposes and user controls is set out in our Cookie Policy. We do not rely on third-party advertising cookies in this local project build.

17. Third-party sites

The site may in future contain links to third-party websites. A third party's privacy practices are governed by its own notices and controls, not this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy information of any external service before providing personal information to it. The current project is designed so front-end resources are served locally rather than downloaded from third-party content-delivery networks.

18. Complaints

If you have a concern about our handling of personal information, please contact us first so we can investigate and attempt to resolve it. In New Zealand, you may also make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. If the GDPR applies, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, legal obligations or privacy practices change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be presented in a reasonably prominent way where appropriate. Continued use of the website after an update does not remove any rights you have under applicable privacy law.
